A note from Joelle...

Hey guys,
I would love to get to about 50 followers before I do my first giveaway, but I was wondering what I should give away?
I was thinking either this zebra print pendant on a felt chain:

Or this cute silver and white Hummingbird necklace:
I will place a poll on the side of my blog and the necklace with the most votes will become the giveaway prize! WOOOOO!! :)
*The poll will close at 7am GMT on Friday 23rd December

Cossack Hats

A note from Joelle...
I don't know about you, but I am seeing these hats EVERYWHERE at the moment. I didn't really like them until I saw a 'Made in Chelsea' episode where Louise de Courcey-Thompson wore a beautiful chestnut  fur cossack.
I know that these hats originate from the Cossack fur/sheepskin hats worn in the winter months in Russia and they have certainly caught on in the rest of Europe.
Are they the new trend for Winter? Or do they just look ridiculous. I could probably argue for both sides but as I am now the proud owner of a  black Cossack purchased off of eBay, the furry phenomenon has definitely reached me! (Faux fur of course!)

Currently £16 at ASOS (Updated for Winter 2012)

I own a black Cossack from eBay (£7), but I will invest in another one from Harrods soon. They also make excellent pillows ;)
So what do you think? Are Cossack fur hats trendy or just a bit weird?
Let me know!

Brisk Autumn Walk

A note from Joelle...

Oh I do love Surrey, especially on days like this! Autumn is definitely the best season: the comfort food, the comfy knitwear and the cosy lazy days at the weekends! Wooooo! I wouldn't change the British Autumn weather for the world!

A note from Joelle...
* My necklace is from Forever 21 UK

Hi dolls,
As you've probably heard... IT'S MOVEMBER! This is when men grow moustaches in support of raising awareness of prostate cancer. As a few family members have suffered from this, I feel that raising awareness is so important! Cancer is beatable and with more awareness of the rarer types and more support, it will hopefully become a lot easier to get more effective treatment!
As most of the people who read my blog are female, you're probably wondering 'how can I take part? I can;t grow a moustache!'
Well, lucky for you girls, I have found these amazing pieces of jewellery to wear. Check them out...

Kitsch small curly moustache necklace

So what are you waiting for? Show your support for MOVEMBER this month and enjoy these quirky accessories at the same time!

Chalet Girl Chic!

A note from Joelle...

I absolutely loved the UK Film 'Chalet Girl' when I saw it in the cinema a few months ago and was so happy when my mum bought it on DVD. (You are probably thinking "where is she going with this post?") It got me thinking about winter clothes and how skiwear is slowly creeping onto the High street shelves.

Long time, no see!

A note from Joelle...

So I've not been blogging in a while and started to get withdrawal symptoms. What have I missed? I have been so busy with university applications and college, that I have completely neglected this page :(
As we are well into the Autumn months, all of my crazy knitted cardigans and retro jumpers have come out of hiding. My amazingly cringey music note jumper for ASOS will be getting lots of used in the moths to come!
I promise to blog more this month! So, watch this space..

Joelle xoxo

Rusty and Burnt (Colours for Autumn)

A note from Joelle...

If (like me) you absolutely adore the Autumn season, why not make the most of the blustery days and still continue to dress up? The maxi dresses, denim jackets and platform wedges from the Summer may be on their way out... but burnt cable-knit dresses/jumpers, Aztec print, capes and elegant tunics are brilliant for this season. I found that burnt and rusty colours are everywhere on the High Street this season and I really like it as it resembles the autumn leaves.
Still not sure? Check out some pictures below :)

New season

A note from Joelle...
I promise to do a fashion related post soon!!!!
I started Upper 6th (Year 13) of college today, which basically means that I'm in my final year of education before university.
My college timetable is shorter but the hours are going to be much longer as I am going to work really, really hard to get good grades. Last year I didn't really have much confidence academically and mentally to really try my best - but everything has changed now.
Getting a place at uni is going to be very challenging this year as I will be competing with people who did not get a place this year (about 100,000 students) so I'm going all out.

This week I heard someone say : "Fail to prepare or prepare to fail" and that really stuck in my mind because I never really prepare (well) for anything.
But like I said, it's a new season and I've got a good feeling about this year :)
It sounds cheesy but... THE SKY'S THE LIMIT!!
How has everyone been? Liking Autumn (Fall) already?
Keep it real,

Shopping in London Town

A note from Joelle...

On Friday I took a lovely trip up to London's Oxford Street for some back to school shopping and just a general catch-up.
We sat and had lunch in Hyde Park. I had a duck hoisin wrap, salted popcorn, strawberry milkshake and some little sushi rolls from Wasabi. Mmmmm!
We all bought chocolate from Liberty Store and they were rather odd flavours (see pics below)
Because of the great end of Summer sales, I managed to get great autumn knitted jumpers, jewellery and tops from H&M, New Look and the brand new Forever 21!
