New York Colour 240 'Midtown' Quick Dry Nail Polish

A note from Joelle...
I cheekily 'borrowed' this from my little sister because I was curious as to how it would look on my nails. I hardly ever wear pink varnish, let alone glossy hot pink! But, here we go!
This is the New York Colour 240 'Midtown' Quick Dry Nail Polish and it's about $1.99 in the USA and £4.50 here! (I know, odd! But just eBay it instead for good deals)
By the way, the brown swirl on my palm is a henna tattoo!
I have never used such a glossy varnish in my life! The incredible sheen is both a good thing and a bad thing.
Good - because your nails look like they are generating their own source of light
Bad - With every good glossy colour comes a sticky and viscous varnish. It did create  rather odd lumps at the tip of my nails, which I have to continuously pat down. It;s nothing that a splash of nail polish remover in the bottle (to loosen the mixture up) can't fix.

Baroque 'n' Roll (Part 2)

A note from Joelle...
So it seems, everyone has jumped on the Baroque-themed fashion bandwagon... awesome! I hoped that it would catch on this season and I have not been disappointed. Black and gold is already HUGE this season, not only on the catwalk but on the highstreet too! Just pop into your local River Island, Primark or New Look and you well see a sea of black and gold metallic goodies, Baroque chain prints and glossy embellishments on handbags.

Bollywood Babes

A note from Joelle...
On a warm Monday night in late August, I went to  Miss A's (one of my best friend's) birthday party. I had not seen her in absolute ages and was really, really excited. I knew there would be amazing food (which there was!) and great, colourful outfits. Everyone rose to the occasion and came in Bollywood-themed attire, which was incredible.
It was Bollywood themed, which has to be the best theme for a party EVER! We had awesome Banghra music blasting from the speakers, bindi jewels for our foreheads, henna tattoos, traditional East-Asian attire and loads more. There was even a bouncy castle!
As you can see from the photos, I went all-out with my outfit and had a brilliant time with my friends.

Fancy (But Fuss Free) Nutella & Oreo Cheesecake

A note from Joelle...

This recipe is so simple it's crazy! It is just a regular chilled cheesecake recipe, but served in  fancy dessert glasses. It just makes it look extra classy and it tastes delicious too!

You will need:
10 packets of oreos cookies
A jar of Nutella
A tub of marscapone cream cheese
Melted butter
Icing sugar
Vanilla extract
Berries to garnish (optional)
Rolling pin
Plastic sandwich bag
Dessert dishes/cocktail glasses
Mixing bowl

Place the Oreo cookies into a plastic bag and whack it senseless with a rolling pin!  If you are not fond of food abuse then you can always blitz them in a food processor/blender.
If you get a few larger crumbs in the mix, don't worry! They add the extra crunch to the biscuit cheesecake base. Melt the butter in a separate pan and then slowly add to the Oreo crumbs, mixing to cover all the crumbs. The mixture should turn almost a black colour.
You now have your buttery biscuit base!<<< I dare you to click this link! Spoon generous amounts into each glass/dish, wrap with clingfilm and then place in the fridge to firm up for about an hour. If you cannot wait that long, place in the freezer for 30 mins.
While the base is firming up, mix the cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla extract together. Slowly add the Nutella next. You can mix it all in ferociously to turn the whole thing brown or you can do the marbling effect, which creates cute swirls of chocolatey goodness!
Add the chocolatey-cheese mix to the now-firm biscuit base and smooth over with the back of a spoon.
Leave to chill in the fridge until you want to serve it!
Add a few strawberries cut into halves and then serve chilled.
Et voilà!

Style File #6: Rosie Fortescue

A note from Joelle...
No questions asked - this woman knows how to dress. She is mostly famous for the reality show 'Made In Chelsea', but she is also a blogger and animal charity patron. Find her blog HERE!
This Chelsea girl is known on the show for mainly wearing dark/burnt colours, but every know-and-then she offers a vibrant burst of contrasting block colours in her outfit when out and about.
Here, Rosie looked lovely in sleek straight trousers, silk blouse and Prada handbag as attended Voice of Women Awards. This is my favourite look of hers!
Rosie mixed shiny black leather with burnt orange
Rosie wears elegant pastels and floral here patent Prada bag. Cheska Hull ( also from MIC) mixes floral and black leather.

So what do you think of Rosie's style? Let me know below!

Turns out Rosie likes the post! YAY!
