Out Of This World: Guide to Galaxy Print

A note from Joelle...
I first saw galaxy print on nail art blogs and thought 'woooooow!' It looked super hard to do, as you needed about 5 different nail polished and a lot of patients. Then, I began to see it on bags, shoes, top, dresses and jewellery and I now love it.
I have seen many bloggers and other girls in on the street wearing more than one galaxy print item (eg, top and leggings) and it actually works! It was not overpowering and was usually matched with really simple non-statement jewellery and plain shoes. With this said, I am still yet to purchase galaxy print clothes as they have not hit any of the high-street stores in my area :(. Oh well, I've still got online shopping! YAY!

So, here are my top galaxy print items that you should definitely check out. Who said star-gazing was boring? ;)

Style File #4: Emma Stone

A note from Joelle...
She has been my favourite actress since I saw her in 'The House Bunny' (brilliant film) and then in my all-time favourite, 'Easy A'. But she is now most known for playing the lead role in Oscar-Winning film 'The Help' and now in the latest Spider Man film with Andrew Garfield.
In her previous films, Emma usually plays an average teenager with an average fashion sense, such a jeans and plain T-shirts, accompanied by her dyed red hair and loose waves. I was surprised to find out that she is not a natural red-head!

Recent photos of Emma at events and premières shows her going back to her roots (pardon the pun) and bringing out her natural blonde hair. I think that it really suits her, although she is more recognisable as a red-head.

Here, at the UK première of The Amazing Spider Man last week, Miss Stone opted for an Elie Saab  plunging neckline jumpsuit. In my opinion, the trousers were a bit too long (think back to Cheryl Cole's X Factor USA fashion disaster), but due the the detail in the upper half of the jumpsuit, she still looked amazing. I also like the minimal accessories and simple hair.

For the Paris première, Emma wore this AMAZING Gothic plunging neckline gown from Gucci.  She looked absolutely wonderful in every photo.

No. 7 Treats

A note from Joelle...
I realised that I never do beauty reviews on my blog, but this is all about to change! I bought these three No.7 products with the £5 off voucher and it was a total bargain! The original prices are below.
1) £7
2) £12
3) £8
1) The purifying exfoliator did wonders to my skin. It deeply cleansed my skin and got rid of most of the dead skin cells. The exfoliating grit in the gel was a teeny bit harsh on my sensitive skin, but I just used my hands to rub in it instead of a facial brush. I found out that it works better when you apply it after washing your face with warm/hot water, as it opens up your pores, meaning that the exfoliator can deeply cleanse your face.

2) The hot Cloth Cleanser is like a silky foam that you pump out of the bottle. It feels almost too soft and silky on the face, therefore I didn't know if it was doing anything to my face and also whether I was using it correctly. The bottle size in HUGE and will last me a good four months (or even more!).
To this day, I am still not sure what a hot cloth cleanser is, but it does smell great and leaves your skin really smooth.

3) There are tiny micro granules in this that exfoliate the skin very well and get into the tricky areas such as around the nose and below the eyes without abrasion. I had to put a very thick layer on my face in order for it to exfoliate well, however. With that said, I still recommend it for people that have sensitive skin but still want to use a good exfoliator!

Raspberry Goddess Pie

A note from Joelle...
I have been a huge fan of Irish cook Donal Skehan's recipes for about four years and am glad that his food blog have now turned into a great website, cooking book and TV show! This is one of his Swedish dessert recipe that look so simple, but tastes delicious!

Here are the ingredients:
225g of plain flour, 125g of caster sugar, 125g of butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 250g of raspberries, 200ml of creme fraiche

Method:
Mix together the flour, sugar, butter, vanilla extract and baking powder until it forms a dough.
Press the dough into a lined baking tin and then place in the fridge to rest for 30 mins.
Preheat the oven to 225˚C.

Mix together the raspberries and crème fraiche, vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl and then spread over the base of the pie dough. Make sure to even out the mixture with a spoon/spatula.

Bake in the oven for 15 mins. Then lower the heat to 150˚C and bake for another 15 mins.

Allow to cool and serve slices with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream or fresh berries
This is the pie before in went into the oven. The pictures of it cooked were very blurry so could not upload the final result :(. It looked great though!
I also made a strawberry pie for those that didn't like raspberries! All the ingredients were the same, but I just substituted the raspberries for strawberries.

New Adventures In Scotland!

A note from Joelle...
I haven't actually mentioned this on my blog yet, but I thought that it was a good time to tell you all that I am moving  to Scotland for the Summer.
Yes, it is really random, but I am so excited about it as I have never lived away from home for months on end. I have been told that it is rather cold up there, but oh well, I can just drink lots of tea!

This means that I will not be posting for a while. I'm not sure for how long, but it will be after I do all my exams and settle in my new environment!
Wish me luck! :)
