♫ ♪ Brimful Of Asha - Cornershop <<< You WILL remember this song!
Okay, so I might have been about 5 or 6 in 1999, but I do remember the TV Shows and the fashion (influenced by the TV Shows). I saw teens in my school and neighboured inspired by shows like The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air, Daria and Clueless. And me? Well it was all about the Spice Girls, Steps, 5ive, jelly shoes, crop-tops, bandannas and pedal pusher leggings and 'skorts' (a skirt with shorts sewn in underneath - google it the view how hideous they were!) . Oh, I was such a mini fashionista...right?
Casual-wear for young women were more androgynous, but still playful, whereas evening-wear consisted of tighter, plain cocktail dresses often in satin.
