A note from Joelle...
A while back, my older sister travelled over 700 miles to come and visit me at university and for my birthday week. I took her to one of my favourite hang-outs on the High Street.
This is a great place to grab breastfeed in the morning in Aberdeen. it's tucked away on the busy High Street and can only really be described as a Tardis. Oh yes, the diner looks rather small on the outside, but it's large interior stretches out for ages.
The seats are in small booths at the front of the diner and then there are regular tables at the back.
My sister and I both ordered tea (Earl Grey, of course) and then had a good catch up. This was her first time to Scotland and I had not seen her since the New Year.
The tea and sides came very quickly and the staff are very friendly, with nice smiles (even in the mornings!). We were sat near the bar, so we could hear our food being made fresh in the pan, nothing better than that!
We had a nice, relaxed morning at the Filling Station and really enjoyed it. And guess what? Our breakfast cost us £5 each - brilliant! #SkintStudentsRUs
Before: I had never tried American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup, so I thought I should give it a go!
After: Can you tell if I liked it? ;)
My sister went for a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast: Sausage, egg, tomato, black pudding (which she liked after I forced her to try it!), tomato , beans, bacon and 'tattie' cakes (potato cake things?)
