Stylefruits Dress Wishlist

A note from Joelle...
I don't usually click the ads on the sidebar of Facebook, but this time was different! And ad for Stylefruits came up and I had heard a bit about their online store, but not that much. Out of curiosity, I just clicked the ad and was amazed at the clothes on there, especially the dresses!
Stylefruits is a company that selects fashion garments from a large amount of online shops and is an interactive outlet as well as a store.
Members can pick clothes from the website and compile them into collages and even design their own to fit their personal style. I thought this was really cool, so I found some of my favourite dresses from the site and made a little wishlist. I hope you like it!

How I Wear My Converse With John Lewis

A note from Joelle...

♫ ♪ 'Unaware' - Allen Stone ♫ ♪ << you HAVE to listen to this!

I love Converse shoes and frankly, I don't know anyone who doesn't! They come in really cool colours and styles and that's why they are still in fashion even when they were created waaaay back in the 1908.
The Converse I already own are a bit tatty and err, baby pink, so the awesome John Lewis team gave me some vouchers to buy a brand new pair! I popped over to the local John Lewis store and picked up these badboys!
 Hey now, you're an all-star...
I like to wear my Converse with dresses and have always done that, whether it's the sneaker or pump-style. As it's A/W, I layer on a loose jumper or cardigan so I don't freeze to death!
I remember Hilary Duff wearing them under her ballgown in 'A Cinderella Story' and I was hooked from then-on!

These shoes suit my style because I love to wear casual, lace-up pumps that can be worn with pretty much anything! I love the navy blue on this pair as I am usually boring and tend to play it safe with black shoes all the time. But navy blue goes with blacks and greys, and is never boring!
Do you fancy a new pair of Converse? Head over to the John Lewis site to check out the range!
How would YOU wear these Converse? Let me know!

Style File #16 : Ella Eyre

A note from Joelle...

♫ ♪ 'Waiting All Night' (acoustic) - Ella Eyre ♫ ♪

I love this girl's voice and fashion sense so much!
Ella's style is fierce, but she can also tone it down when she wants.
I have noticed that she likes her busy prints and vibrant colours, but often dresses quite casually (in crop tops and disco pants) for performances.
I saw her in the flesh last week at the MOBO Awards, and for her performance, she wore a simple grey dress. She then later changed into bust prints for the main ceremony - so versatile!
And how beautiful is her hair? I absolutely love it!

♫ ♪ 'I Saw Her Standing There' - The Beatles ♫ ♪

A few weeks ago, I saw this cool new project ASOS were creating and on a whim, just applied to be a part of it. ASOS is my favourite outlet (that's why it's featured on this blog so much!) and was the first ever place I spent my paycheck from my first job, so I just went for it!
On Wednesday, a surge of tweet came through my twitter and Instagram feeds of bloggers and others being accepted into Access All ASOS. I was sooooooo happy for them as it's a cool new project that takes fans of ASOS behind the scenes and get one step closer to our favourite outlet.
About three minutes later, an email popped up on my phone (as I was carrying shopping home) and it said that I too had been accepted as an 'Insider' - WOOHOO!!!!! But I was so happy, I dropped my shopping and broke the box of eggs I bought - nice one, Joelle.
I can't go into too much detail what this involves right now, but when I can, y'all will be the first to know!
The next day, I opened my pigeon hole to find a parcel from ASOS. I hadn't ordered anything recently so was thinking 'errrr I think they've sent it to the wrong Joelle'.
But alas, it was for me, very much so as there was a gorgeous hand-written letter from Jayne, a member of the team.
I was kindly gifted a cool lip pencil (because of my love of writing) and an orange beanie hat (which I will be wearing to uni today)! There was also a fortune cookie (which I opened first - it's food, of course...) and it read something that made me so happy!
Enough of my nattering on now, I'll let the pictures do the talking!
Thank you so, so much to the ASOS and Access All ASOS tam for having me on board. This is going to be mega!

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Facial Pads

A note from Joelle...
Hi guys! I'm starting beauty reviews again! It's been too long and I have missed it. Kicking things off with this Nip + Fab product!
What is it? Facial pads soaked in glycolic acid, hyaluronic acid and blue daisy.
What is it meant to do? On the label it reads Exfoliating and Brightening:
For exfoliating - One side of the pad is more coarse, so easier to exfoliate the skin with and remove dirt
For brightening - The liquid used in the pad does just that. It's quite cold, but refreshing on the skin without the annoying tingling sensation afterwards.

How do you use it? Wipe pad across face, neck and decolletage. Apply to cleansed skin once or twice a day. (I do it once)

There are lots of pads in here, so you won't be running out in a hurry (there are 60)
-  One pad goes a long way without breaking and fraying
- There is a weak scent of the acid, nothing overpowering or sickly about it
- My face is brighter and refreshed after use
It's easy to accidentally use two or three pads at once without realising, as they are super thin!
- The pads are soaked in the liquid so it may be best to squeeze some back into the tub to use another time.

Where can I buy? Straight from the Nip + Fab website (free UK delivery on all orders!) You can also check out the other products in the 'Glycolic Fix' range HERE.
Or on other stores at Superdrug, Boots, ASOS and Debenhams (all similar prices).

Verdict: Is it worth buying? Well, if you want a refreshing wake-me-up skin boost to brighten up your complexion, this is for you. It works well for me, so I will carry on using it! 4.5/5

150g Caster Sugar

3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and continue to stir
4. Gently fold in the flour, bits at a time. Try not to knock the air out of the mixture!
5. If the mixture is looking a bit thick, add a splash of milk and stir
6. Add in the chopped chocolate and raspberries, then stir gently
7. Add in the fresh raspberries, but don't crush them (or turn the batter pink) by stirring too much!
7. Spoon equal amounts of the mixture into the muffin cases and bake for 20 mins.
8. Allow to cool for 20 mins and then serve (or decorate with buttercream icing and more fruit)!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! This past weekend has been so surreal. I finally got to see my friend in her hometown and travel to the West side of Scotland for the MOBO awards!
I got the bus from Aberdeen on Saturday morning and travelled down to Glasgow. It was a smooth three hour ride and I had wifi and a socket to charge my phone, so I was happy!
My phone died near the beginning of the show and I wasn't allowed to use my big camera in the arena, so these pics are a bit crap, soz!
So Solid Crew reuniting!
The 'Armadillo'
When I arrived, I was sooooooooo happy to meet up with H, who I haven't seen since early this year. We went for a lovely pub meal and then she showed me some cool places in the city, like the Museum, Armadillo (shaped) centre, the Hydro (where we were going later for the MOBOs and other places.

The Show:
 Standard grainy iPhone selfie!
We thought we were late, but we got to the Hydro in the nick of time! On our way in, we saw sooooo many female guests dolled up in ball gowns, party dresses and amazing high heels. The fashion was extreme on both ends of the scale, haha!
We had a mixup with our tickets and ended up sitting further away from the seats we paid for, but we could still see everything, so it was all good.
We watched Tinie Tempah, Iggy Azalea, AlunaGeorge, Fuse ODG, Rudimental, So Solid Crew and Laura Mvula perform, which was an incredible experience. It was my fourth time seeing Tinie Tempah and second seeing Laura Mvula, but Fuse ODG brought the house down with 'Antenna' and 'Azonto'!!
Naughty Boy and Laura Mvula were the big winners of the night, scooping 2 awards each! Tinie Tempah, Kendrick Lamar  Rudimental and Fuse ODG were also winners!
I did hope that my old school chums Disclosure would win something, but alas, 'twas not meant to be tonight!
The dress I wore on the night from New look! I also wore New Look platform heels (bought ages ago) and a New Look necklace!
That was a total coincidence!

We then headed off into town after the awards. It was such a fab night! I am planning to come back to GTown very soon!
