Woodland Antics

A note from Joelle..

♫ ♪ 'Somewhere Only We Know' - Keane ♫ ♪

When I popped down to Surrey for a few days, my amazing mother came up with a plan to get us out of the house on the Saturday morning for some outdoor sports in the beautiful Surrey country.
We ventured off the High Ashurst for a morning of archery and orienteering. Now, I have done both before and loved it, so I thought it would be a breeze this time around...
Driving down to High Ashurst at this time of year is beautiful! It's not called 'Leafy Surrey' for nothing!
Gloriously frosty morning. Gloves, hats and scarves were a must!
Testing out knowledge of mapping symbols. We got them all right!
My geography degree skills came in handy!

Our instructor, James was very patient with us on both the orienteering and archery. He taught us important safety stuff and how to read orienteering maps well.
I was pretty appalling at getting the arrows onto the target, but hey ho, it was a bundle of laughs!
We ended the day with a spot o' lunch at The Grumpy Mole Pub, and you can salivate over the food pics I took HERE!
Have you ever been on an adventure break like this? If not, I really recommend trying it out!
