Tottering around the cobbled streets of Covent Garden is one thing everyone should experience, but having a special Champagne and macaron afternoon tea at Laduree is really the icing on the cake pastry to a great day out in London.
We hopped on a bus from Waterloo Station to Covent Garden - it's a lovely scenic journey across the bridge, and the tube is unbearable at this time of the year!
My sisters and I have a thing for macarons - always have and always will! Every time we are in Covent Garden, the world famous Ladurée is where we sprint to first.
This was our first experience of the luxury Champagne Macaron Afternoon Tea experience though, and it did not disappoint!
We sat on the Laduree rooftop, overlooking the market and lively street performers.
My sister and I were treated to:
Personally selected macarons - we went for Pistachio, vanilla, raspberry, salted caramel and Earl Grey
Passionfruit tarts, fraisier, mango and jasmine cream cake
Smoked salmon finger sandwiches
Fromage finger sandwiches
Ladurée pastry selection
A few (too many) glasses of pink Champagne
A pot of tea each
The sugar rush was too real, especially as we were allowed to take home a box of macarons in a lovely pastel box! It really is like sweet heaven at Ladurée, so if you're in London, make sure to stop by.
Afternoon tea is a fab European tradition that has now come back in fashion and as a cake-lover, I welcome it with open arms!
We couldn't stay for too long as we had to dash off to the other side of town to see a the new Kinks musical, but more about that later!
Many thanks to Angie Silver and Truly Concierge for hooking me up!
Are you a fan of afternoon tea?
