A note from Joelle...
I went to a number of festive parties over the December period and now I'm back at uni, there's no signs of slowing down. Everyone (who isn't doing their dissertation) seems to still be in winter party mode even though it's freeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing!
For New Years Eve, I was kitted out in some gorgeous party pieces from George at ASDA!
Here are my top dos and don'ts for winter party survival!
Embrace the theme - Festive jumper night? Fancy dress? #tbt theme? Get stuck in and have a laugh. Kitten whiskers drawn in eyeliner and a pair of leather leggings ain't fooling anyone!
Wear a coat/throw - yes, we all know how annoying it it to pay that extra £1 for the cloakroom, but you'll be the one laughing when you're nice 'n' toasty coming to and from the party.
Also, I've taken a leaf out of the LFW trend-setters who drape their coats over their shoulders like accessories - looks so chic!
Get chatting to everyone - Winter parties are always packed out with new people and familiar faces, so it's nice to get chatting with people you don't know that well. It's a fab opportunity to make new connections and friends.
Talk badly about your boss/colleague - yeah, we've all been there: an emotional rant after a few too many drinks. Chances are people have mutual friends and your comments could get back to the person you were talking about. If you're thinking up something mean in your head, keep it there.
Be afraid to sparkle - Seventies disco sparkles never hurt anyone, right? Pus, every can pull them off, so it's all good! My sequined vest got lots of compliments on NYE. Check the website for lots of embellished party wear lots of which are discounted!
