A note from Joelle...

This winter has been all about LBDs for me - classic ones and quirky ones, like this gem from Quiz Clothing. I've been living in black for the past three months and it's hard to go wrong when black genuinely goes with everything.
Quiz Clothing dresses (*) are giving me so much life at the moment. I'm usually quite boring when it comes to LBDs and just chose to add more excitement with jewellery and shoes, this dress is a game-changer.
I wasn't too sure about the cut-out lattice pattern at first, but it's something different and actually works out quite well with my debenhams clutch and Jon Snow-esque gillet from Primark.
It may look like texture-overload, but it just works! Adding a bit of sparkle takes the dark edge off and the gillet keeps you warm whilst showing off the detail of the dress.

Anyway, this was just a wee post to let you know that I am indeed alive and well. I made a promise to blog more this year, and will try my best to stick to that promise. Bear with me, folks!

A note from Joelle...

The Nasty Women are coming.

The incredible new indie publisher, 404ink are pretty cool. They've commissioned a group of women from up and down the country to write about their experiences of bein a woman in the 21st Century. And I am so excited to be one of them! I can't tell you too much about what my essay will be about, but check out the video below for all the topics covered.

For me, 2017 is about taking up space and writing about my truths. My book, 'Otherness' was a great warm up to help me being completely unapologetic about my stories, so I can't wait for you all to read this.
But for 'Nasty Women' to exist, we really do need you help! We have 28 days to reach our funding target and we are already halfway there in under 2 days, so things are looking promising.
When the book is fully funded, it will be published in March 2017, the same month as International Women's Day. I can't wait for you all to see the final book and read the incredible words.

Politics, pressure, personal, punk.

Made any early plans to kick ass in 2017? Let me know!
