Who Is FebruaryGirl?

A note from Joelle...
Hello! Here's a bit more about me...

What's your name?

Joelle or Jo, I don't mind :)

Where are you from?

The South East England but currently living in Scotland for university.

How old are you?
I am 22 years old.

Why do you start your posts with 'A note from Joelle'?

That was the name of my old blog that I accidentally deleted. Secondly, I just really like a consistent phrase on my blog. It also helps readers to remember the name of the girl behind this blog.

Why did you start blogging?

I wanted to read something other than the stuff in the glossy magazines. I was more likely to buy fashion and beauty products if a real person with honest opinions was reviewing it. I then found fashion and make-up blogs and thought I should give it a go! I also love to write and have written two novels fourteen plays and a handful of poems, some of which you can read HERE.
I have a love-hate relationship with fashion blogging, so these days, I don't do as many outfit posts.

When did you start blogging?
All the way back in 2009, but I accidentally deleted that blog and lost all the posts. But this is my new blog as of February 2011, and I love it! It's like a diary and a place to share my love for a wide variety of things.

Why did you choose the name 'FebruaryGirl'?

I started this blog in February 2011 and my birthday also falls in that month, so I thought it was a cool name!

You are studying a science degree, so why are you interested in fashion?

Good question! The honest answer is that I'm not interested in fashion. It comes and goes and then repeats itself decades later with a glossier finish. I am more interested in STYLE and how men and women can piece together clothes and accessories that can cause a reaction within themselves and the people around them. For me, style is more important than fashion as it's not only for the eyes, but for all senses and emotions.

You can't be yourself if you follow all the fashion trends. But if you incorporate fashion into your personal style, you are more likely to be remembered.

Where do you get your 'Quotes of the Week' from?

I find them from all over the web and some I know off by heart. This Twitter site also helped me in the beginning.

Why are there music notes in some  posts?
You mean this?"♫♪" I never actually explained what they were, apologies. When I write blog posts, I'm always listening to music. So I thought it would be cool to show you the music I am listening to/inspired the post. I add the track and artist with a YouTube link for my readers to find it! :)

What fashion item best describes your personality?

I would definitely say may jewellery, especially necklaces! I love to wear statement and quirky pieces as I think it shows my personality in a subtle way. In the photo above, my magnifying glass (it works!) necklace is from Eclectic Eccentricity!

What camera do you use?

I use the Pentax I-10, a cute vintage camera that takes great photos. However, as I have got a bit older, I am going to have to invest in a camera with those removable lens things. I was thinking of an Olympus or Canon camera?

Please let me know about any cool cameras out there!

UPDATE: I now use a Samsung NX1000

Where do you hope to take this blog in the future?
I blog as a hobby, as I want to work within the oil industry in the future. However, I hope to make good friends and contacts with people all over the globe and create a much safer and more peacefully virtual community. I honestly think that it can be done because the majority of people are genuinely friendly and all want positivity and success!
I am a keen writer and am currently working on a new novel a few plays and a TV script, which will all hopefully be released sooooooon!

Will you follow me back if I follow you?

If you leave your link, I will of course have a look and follow if I like the content. I do not respond to spammy comments though!

If you still want to know more, I did the 'Personal Questions' Tag and the 'Get To Know Me' Tag.
